There are a large number of organisations and groups which can help with equalities advice, support and guidance. The following cannot be an exhaustive list and suggests only a starting point. To go to a website, click on its name.

 

Commission for Racial Equality

The CRE work for a just and integrated society, where diversity is valued. We use both persuasion and our powers under the law to give everyone an equal chance to live free from fear, discrimination, prejudice and racism.

 

Disability Rights Commission

The goal of the DRC is a society where all disabled people can participate fully as equal citizens.

 

Equal Opportunities Commission 

The Equal Opportunities Commission is working to eliminate sex discrimination in Britain today.  Women. Men. Different. Equal.

Commission for Equality and Human Rights 

Please note: from October 2007 the CRE, DRC and EOC will no longer exist and their roles will be taken over by the Commission for Equality and Human Rights.

Social Exclusion Task Force 

Co-ordinates the Government's drive against social exclusion and champions the needs of the most disadvantaged members of society.

Stonewall

Equality and Justice for Lesbians, Gay Men and Bisexuals - a professional lobbying organisation, also provides information and runs campaigns. 

Brighton and Hove City Council

Information on the Council's approach to equalities, standards and schemes, reporting racist incidents, equalities monitoring, civil partnership registration, and other sources of information.
