Involving people who live and work in the East Brighton New Deal for Communities (ebndc) area is the essential ingredient in making the regeneration of the area a lasting success. It means that local people are at the heart of the decision making and are all helping to shape the future of East Brighton.
Join a decision making group
Whenever a vacancy arises in one of our decision-making groups we usually fill it by a process of advertising, recruitment and selection. Vacancies on the Partnership are usually filled through nomination and selection by the resident members. As with any important job, all members of decision making groups fulfill basic criteria.
If you live within the NDC area of Bates Estate, Higher Bevendean, Manor Farm, Moulsecoomb, Saunders Park or Whitehawk (click here for a map of the NDC area) there are four key decision making groups you could join:
The ebndc Partnership
This group sets the overall strategic direction for the NDC programme.
Health Steering Group
This group checks progress on all the projects funded to meet outcomes related to making East Brighton healthier.
Communities Steering Group
This group checks progress on all the other projects funded that are reducing the inequalities between East Brighton and the rest of the city.
Approvals Board
This group considers applications for new project funding or changes to funding for existing projects.
Observers are welcome to these groups by arrangement with the Chair.
